DEAN's national conference kicks off in Itahari
Itahari : A two-day national conference of the Diploma Engineer's Association, Nepal (DEAN) kicked off here today.
The conference held outside the Kathmandu Valley for the first time with the participation of representatives from the SAARC nations as well was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar. On the occasion, he urged the DEAN to come up with a new but substantive policy at a time when the process is on the progress to shift power and rights confined into the Singha Durbar down to the local levels.
The implementation of the constitution would empower the people from every sphere on an equal footing, he said, seeking more responsibilities from technical human resources to empower the local levels in terms of the technology.
Similarly, speaking on the same the occasion, President of Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh, AKMA Hamid, shared that his country had given top priority to the use of information technology and its results had already been seen in the holistic development of the nation, suggesting Nepal for an adoption of such policy.
DEAN President Kameshwor Prasad Singh presided over the inauguration session which was attended by National Planning Commission former vice chair Dr Dinesh Chandra Devkota, CTVT vice chairperson Kul Bahadur Basnet and Purbanchal University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ghanshyamlal Das, among others. RSS
